Sea Turtle Charters

Biggest Fish to date. 28kg Wahoo. Smashed a trolled flying fish. One of two fish off a double strike, other fish was a 15kg Wahoo.

Wahoo season is upon us. Grab them while you can.

Second pass at a F.A.D and a big Mahi Mahi boosts out in the air and starts to chase our lures. Ten seconds later it nailed a big popper skiterring across the surface.
Nice fish Matt, you even brought your special glove along to hold the fish with.

In the early dark hours when most fish are inactive. These black Gemfish are on the prowl. An unusual catch in deepwater.

No Fishing this week due to rough seas and strong winds.
Maintenance was the order of the week, and a homemade drop net to catch some livebait.
Only caught one livebait the other evening but when I hooked it and cast it out it got nailed as it hit the surface by a nice Big Eye Trevally, so hence the drop net. Watch this space. Will post results of livebait catch and what happens when you put one down around a FAD.

Early morning start today produced 1 Yellowfin, lost 3. Highlight was hooking a nice Yellowfin on a Jig, getting it to the boat and seeing a shark coming up to take it. In my panic i muscled the Yellowfin to the surface grabbed the leader and tried to pull it into the boat whilst the shark was coming in for his breakfast. As i lifted the fish it came of the hook. As the yellowfin swam away i looked over to see a large Wahoo as well swimming down into the depths. On inspection of the jig, the weight of he fish had straightened the hook. Gotta upgrade some hooks me thinks.

Dawn Yellowfin. The first lure of the day had only just slipped into the water when bam, this beefy beauty nailed it. Why are you smiling Rob?
